Overview: Growing up in the suburbs, I was prone to constant daydreaming. On top of that, I watched way too much TV, which saturated my brain and fueled even more elaborate daydreaming. I’ve learned to bottle that to some degree and, more recently, to release it. I write science fiction pulp, borrowing often from fantasy, sometimes from horror, but always about characters wielding power on par with the challenges they face: deadly psychics, practitioners of fantastic martial arts, alien, world-consuming gods. Some of my favorite authors are Roger Zelazny, Alfred Bester, E.E. “Doc” Smith, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Hopefully, a little of their brilliance shines through in my attempts to tell good stories.

1. Tragic Providence
Pylas Crier was too smart for his own good. His book, a secret cipher designed to take down the Sachs crime family, was a runaway success. With fame, though, comes revelation and reprisal, costing him his family and nearly his own life. Going into hiding, he learns the Divine Pattern Fist, which sets him on a course of mental and physical development that knows no bounds. He is not alone in his rise, and several seemingly unrelated threads converge when the sacred Viscain Tree undergoes a transformation. The world forever changes that day, and Pylas along with it, but in the end, will he merely be the victim of tragic providence?

2. Endless Road
Free of the Past, Pylas Crier fights to settle old scores and reunite with Leilia Purpurata, but first he must contend with the menace—and sheer size—of the Viscain Empire. Hidden away and imprisoned by her father, the Emperor, Leilia hasn’t been seen for millennia. Even with the passage of so many years, though, Pylas is certain that she lives, that she can be found somewhere within the vast, galaxies-spanning Empire. The way is fraught with obstacles, both natural and constructed, with those who would impede his progress on whims of their own or on ages-old orders from the Emperor. Pylas’s will and determination are endless but so, too, may be the road to Leilia.
