Killing Wickham by B. L. Johnson
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 208 KB
Overview: This story is a variation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and borrows many of her same characters. Darcy and Elizabeth start off differently than in Miss Austen’s masterpiece. Eventually Elizabeth meets George Wickham, and though she is initially impressed with his handsome looks and pleasant countenance, she soon learns of his dark side including the truth of his and Darcy’s history together.
It was looking more and more like Elizabeth and Darcy were headed for a life together, but Wickham kept causing trouble for them and their families. Darcy’s once boyhood friend at Pemberley had chosen the life of a gambler and a cheat and was known for his many debaucheries. He had always searched for a woman of wealth to marry who would support him, but try as he may, he never succeeded. Instead, he settled for seducing innocent young women who he defiled and ruined, and several he left to carry his child. Such a life he would continue to live unless fate caught up with him. Many were out looking for him and if he was found, the general thought was that he would likely be murdered.
