#1 Keri: The Early Years
Although long-winded and only covering a period of fifteen traumatic years, this biography is a true account of hidden child abuse. It is not for the faint-hearted. Kat Ward relates, with utter candour, her experiences at the hands of the mother who hated her even before she was born, her step-father, who regarded her as something to be used on a whim and her step-father’s friends — to whom he ‘sold’ her. Even with so-called ‘professionals’ involved and despite the fact that Keri told the truth to her teacher, priest, social workers and child psychiatrist, nothing got better. In fact, things got worse and worse.

#2 Keri: Fighting Back
Volume Two of Kat Ward’s biography about her life as a child. In this book, Keri is expelled from school, put into the care of the local authority and runs away from the children’s home — more than once.

#3 – Keri Karin
Back in 2011, a BBC documentary team were busy compiling testimonies from women claiming to have been sexually abused as children, by the late TV presenter, Sir Jimmy Savile. However, just days before the programme was due to air, it was cancelled; a move that not only angered those women, but further fuelled rumours of a wider conspiracy, as even after his death, it seemed that any mention of wrongdoing on the part of “Old Jimmy” would inevitably only be met by a cold, eerie silence. A silence all too familiar for his victims.
A year later, a rival TV company decided to make their own documentary concerning the Savile abuse claims. After some initial reluctance, Kat Ward agreed to speak to them. This time, the programme did air – and the story was huge.
Literally overnight, a man, who was, in the eyes of the British public, a national institution – as harmless as afternoon tea for many – now stood accused of crimes so heinous, that a collective air of disbelief began to descend, as people struggled to reconcile the claims with his cheery image as a children’s champion and charity fundraiser.

#4 – Keri Karin: Part 2
The year was 1975, and at age sixteen, young Keri was desperate to strike out on her own.
However, as readers of the first two volumes of this series will know, her childhood was hardly the loving, supportive, preparatory period it should have been.
Instead of family dinners and piano recitals, there were shattered dishes and abusive parents. Instead of trips to the museum, there were trips to TV studios – to be molested by celebrities. In short, her childhood was nothing short of a nightmare.
Should it really be any surprise then, after such a traumatic baptism into life, that her first foray into the adult world was hardly an unmitigated success?
From living in squalor to racking up debts, her new-found independence forced her face-to-face with many of life’s grim realities. And despite waiting all her life for her freedom, she soon realised that a world without the institutional bars she was so accustomed to was just too much of a jungle. And every jungle has its predators…
But what was a girl to do? Regress back to an abusive enslavement? Or continue moving forward in a world that seemed so backward? She needed a friend – and fast.
Naturally, her understandable distrust of others didn’t make things easy. Not to mention her warped idea of love. In the end though, her determination proved the deciding factor. As far as she was concerned, she’d performed her final "favour", and cried the last of her tears.
But just when she thought she’d finally left her demons behind, she found herself at the mercy of unsavoury characters yet again – and this time, without anyone to turn to…

#5 -Keri: Karin
Following her disastrous first year in the adult world, it’s hard to imagine how seventeen-year-old Keri’s life could possibly get any worse. However, as anyone who’s ever been down can attest to, getting back up can often be difficult without a helping hand…
But what if all the hands around you only want to push you down further?
It was the summer of 1976, and a time when most young women were enjoying the kinds of summer loves they would cherish forever with a farewell song. Keri, however, was struggling just to find a man whose arms could be relied upon for comfort, as opposed to violence.
At the mercy of some suitably unsuitable suitors, her life had become a whirlwind of uncertainty. One minute, she found herself living on an all-male commune; the next, shacked up with a doe-eyed gent in the country. And without any money or family to support her, she knew tomorrow’s pillow might always be a strange one.
Eventually though, something had to change. Chaos is the bedfellow of destruction after all. And sure enough, one day she woke up, and by the time she went to sleep that night, her life had transformed forever…
One of her admirers had asked for her hand in marriage. Not an uncommon thing at the time, but still a bolt from the blue considering her perpetual state of flux. And despite her mother’s quite ironic misgivings about the candidate’s character and background, Keri accepted, and began looking ahead to a life of committed partnership.
Perhaps she could be forgiven for thinking that her troubles might end with the crossing of the final ‘t’ at the registry office. After all, the role of doting wife had given structure and purpose to many a young woman’s life. So was this to be the turning point she had been waiting for all these years?
Alas, no. It was never going to be as simple as that. For there was one final bombshell to be dropped on her before she lived ‘happily ever after’…
When requesting her birth certificate as part of the marriage legalities, she was shocked to be informed by a cleric that as far as the state were concerned, she simply didn’t exist. There was no birth certificate. No record of ‘Keri’ whatsoever…
And so as she stared down the barrel of a grown-up existence, she suddenly found herself back at square one again. With frozen feet and a panicked heart, her mind burned with just one question: who am I?

#6 – Keri: As Mother Predicted
Just months after Kat Ward was vindicated in a high-profile court case brought against her by a British celebrity, readers can now download part six of her fascinating life story.
Despite leaving the courtroom with her reputation intact, Kat’s inner life was in turmoil, and it was only due to the loyal support and steadfast encouragement of her ever-increasing fan-base that she managed to complete the sixth volume so soon.
Following on from the fifth book, in which she lost her identity but somehow found herself a husband, Karin now finds herself in the precarious position of having to move in with her partner’s family – a move known to strain even the tightest of marital bonds.
But tight bonds are seldom established by those who grew up learning not to trust, and the status of being the only black sheep in a house full of sacred cows eventually takes an irreparable toll on the marriage; forcing the young Karin out of the house and onto the streets.
In what might be described as the first truly "grown up" volume in the series, Kat, now in her twenties, is left with no choice but to face the world completely alone. Homeless, penniless, and holding the (not just proverbial) baby, she resorts to begging by the roadside in order to get by.
Her desperate search for protection leads her down some dark alleys, and before long she realises the uncomfortable truth: that shelter is a commodity to be bargained for. And with little more than her dignity to bargain with, it is perhaps not surprising that the arms she ends up in are not all tender and loving. In fact, she soon finds she needs protection from the protection itself – a theme all too familiar for readers of the prior books.
The woman who was abused her entire childhood now recounts her terror at being subjected as an adult to violent alcoholic rages, false accusations, and even rape at the hands of her sadistic tormentor, who insists on holding her captive.
Once again in need of an escape route, she makes a daring bid for freedom. Yet despite coming so close, she falls short and ends up swapping one set of bars for another.
