Overview: Katie is struggling with the loss of someone so close to her that she feels like her life has ended. She isn’t sure on how to deal with such a tragic loss, but she does know that no matter what everyone says she is never going to let this person slip away from her life. She is doing everything she can think of to avoid talking to her parents. While her parents are telling her she needs to talk to someone, she feels like they are just being nosey.
After meeting Jack, a boy in the same grade as her, she starts to see that she is not the only person to have ever lost someone close. She also learns that sometimes letting someone go is easier that having to watch the ones you love suffer everyday of their life. She soon realizes that sometimes, you just have to let the hand on your shoulder guide you where you need to go.
