Requirements: ePUB / MOBI Reader, 2.9MB
Overview: Psychology and writing (or writing and psychology) have always vied for the number one spot on my list of greatest passions. I am now a retired psychotherapist and can afford to spend as much time as I want on my writing.
Genre: Fiction; Mystery/Thriller
#2 – Ill-Timed Entanglements
Recent widow and new mom, Kate Huntington, never would have made it through the last year without the support of her closest friends, Rob and Liz Franklin. So when Rob’s elderly aunt has a problem, at a most inopportune time, Kate is certainly willing to help out.
No good deed goes unpunished. Her altruistic act lands her in the middle of a police investigation when Aunt Betty’s “problem” turns up dead.
Kate’s second adventure in this series has a bit of a cozy mystery flavor as she and her friends attempt to clear Rob’s octogenarian aunt of suspicion. Wading through a brimming pool of suspects, some of whom have secrets they would prefer stay buried, is hard enough, but Kate is distracted by a growing attraction to another party in the investigation.
She knows it’s too soon to date–she’s still grieving for her beloved Eddie–but the sexual pull is hard to resist. To further complicate matters, Rob is acting strangely. Is it just stress overload, or could he be jealous? Meanwhile, the residents of The Villages retirement community are continuing to die off, and not from natural causes. Soon the question becomes not just whether they will find the killer, but at what cost.
#3 – Family Fallacies
Psychotherapist Kate Huntington is having a rough autumn. Someone’s been sending anonymous and vaguely threatening notes to the counseling center where she works, and now she’s being sued for malpractice, for supposedly planting false memories in a client’s head. There is one bright spot. She’s falling in love. Now if she could just get the ghost of her dead husband out of her head.
As the budding romance is heating up, the note sender ups the ante and is threatening to “destroy” Kate’s family. Can things get any worse? Yes, they can. Kate becomes a murder suspect when a party in the lawsuit ends up dead. Her good friend, lawyer Rob Franklin, still has some misgivings about her too-handsome-to-be-trusted suitor. But now the two men must work together to support the woman they both love, and help her stop a killer… before he or she comes after Kate’s baby girl.
#4 – Celebrity Status
Kate Huntington’s new husband has built up a thriving private investigating agency with their friend, Rose Hernandez, and now they have attracted their first celebrity client, a pop singer whose anonymous stalker has a twisted concept of love. Before Skip Canfield realizes just how twisted, he involves first his psychotherapist wife and then their lawyer friend, Rob Franklin, in the case. Soon they are being hounded by paparazzi and someone is planting evidence to convince Skip that Kate and Rob are lovers. Struggling to deal with this onslaught of unwanted attention and a stalker who will stop at nothing to remove the obstacles in his path, Kate and Skip must face the reality that you can’t always keep those you love from harm.
#5 – Collateral Casualties
When a former client reaches out to psychotherapist Kate Huntington and reveals a foreign diplomat’s dark secret, then dies of ‘natural causes’ just days later, Kate isn’t sure what to think. Was the man delusional or is she now privy to dangerous information?
Soon she discovers her client was totally sane… and he was murdered. Someone is now trying to eliminate her, and anyone and everyone she might have told. Forced into hiding, she and her husband, Skip, along with the operatives of his private investigating agency, struggle to stay one step ahead of a ruthless killer. Skip and his P.I. partner are good investigators, but this time they may be in over their heads… and they could all end up drowning in a sea of international intrigue.
