Kairos Series by Catherine Johnson (#1-3)

Overview: I discovered Fan Fiction in September 2012 and started writing for it in October 2012 thanks to a house move that meant most of my books spent a couple of months packed up in someone else’s garage. Fan Fiction gave me a place to practice, a place to learn and the inclination to try writing original fiction. Then I signed up for National Novel Writing Month 2013. The result was Powerless, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Genre: Romance, Contemporary
1. Blood in the Water: Ashleigh Carter is no stranger to crime, but she’s no criminal; or at least, not technically. By association she’s as guilty as sin. Her father is President of the Priests MC, a motorcycle club that rides on the wrong side of the law. Paul ‘Shark’ Reardon is caught in the middle. What starts out as a simple, yet dangerous, mission for his club, the Rabid Dogs MC is soon complicated by acceptance, friendship and a blue-eyed blonde who is very definitely off-limits. Everyone’s hiding something and trust is in short supply. Hazardous lives, already fraught with tension, are twisted into cross and double-cross. Somewhere in the middle of the plots and lies is a chance for love, if everyone can just make it out the other side alive.
2. Bones by the Wood: Steve ‘Dizzy’ Disraeli has been the Sergeant at Arms of the Priests MC, Louisiana for fifteen years; he’s been a member for more than twenty. Now his president has a big task for him, Samuel Carter has asked him to travel to move back to his native Texas to head up a new charter of the Priests MC. He’s got a lot of work to do, and he needs to find a way to make a home now that he is no longer surrounded by the family he has known for more than half his life. Althea ‘Thea’ Colby is just trying to get along as best she can. It’s not easy being a single mama, but she’s giving it her all. Her son, Josh, is her world and the only man worth having in her life. She spent some time on the sidelines of the biker club in the town she calls home, but never had any plans to get drawn in any further. But the Rabid Dogs MC has disappeared without trace or explanation, and now there’s a new MC in town and they seem to have brought a truckload of trouble with them. Thea and Josh are at risk from the MC’s enemies, and her heart is certainly at risk from the president of the club himself. Thea has to fight to keep her tiny slice of family whole. Dizzy has to fight to build a family from nothing. As they endeavour to survive and endure the trials in their way, they may find that the roads they’re looking for are one and the same.
3. Breath on the Wind: Charlie “Chiz” Davis is a committed brother of The Priests MC, but even within the world of the outlaw motorcycle club, he’s considered to be a little extreme. His little quirks weren’t an issue in his role as Enforcer; in fact they were downright useful, although, occasionally they caused a problem or two. But now Chiz has been promoted to Sergeant at Arms, and he really should be on his best behaviour. When he gets carried away one night and goes too far, he decides to take a break and leave town while the dust settles. Andrea Broussard is a businesswoman first and foremost, although her business is somewhat unconventional. Her world is of her own making, she has no family or lover to share it with, because that is exactly the way she wants it. With no commitments during the holiday season she goes out for a quiet drink. A chance encounter brings two strangers together. Completely removed from their individual spheres, they find there’s a spark that they can’t ignore. When they return to their respective realities, they find that they’ve changed each other irrevocably. The bond that they’ve forged will be tested, but ultimately it will bring them strength, if they let it.
