1. Aftermath
Joe Logan is an ex-NYPD homicide detective. He has no ties, no aspiration, and is happy to keep moving, letting life unroll with every mile. Trouble has a habit of finding Logan, and he is a man who meets it head on and is capable of doing whatever necessary to deal with it. While staying at a trailer park in West Virginia, Logan is approached for help by a woman on the run. Her husband has been murdered, and she and her daughter are being hunted by two hitmen. Logan gets involved and the body count rises as he investigates why the women are such a threat to someone that they have to be eliminated.
2. Atonement:
Parked up off a lonely stretch of highway, a heated argument with her boyfriend prompts Tanya Foster to get out of the vehicle and head for town on foot in the darkness. A car stops, and the driver offers her a lift. Recognizing the man, Tanya accepts. After a search the following day, Tanya’s body is found close to where her boyfriend, Ray Marshall, had been parked. She has been strangled, and all the evidence points to Ray being the perpetrator. Logan has been staying at the Pinetop Motel for several days. It is the motel owner’s son that is being held by the Carson Creek Sheriff’s Department. Logan carries out his own investigation, and discovers a clue which proves to him that Tanya had been attacked on the highway, and that her body had then been moved.
The killer is local, and realizes that Logan’s interference could ultimately lead to him, so calls in a favor from a gangster in Denver to have Logan eliminated. Logan unearths the identity of the girl’s murderer, but has no proof that he can divulge to the local sheriff without it being known that he coerced his information from a hitman who is now dead.
3. Absolution:
Logan is off the grid; a modern-day drifter with a bad habit of inadvertently walking into situations that place him in mortal danger. Discovering a mutilated body on a railroad track Near Madison Bend in southern Arizona, Logan calls in what is obviously a homicide, only to find that the local sheriff seems unconcerned, and is positive that no trace evidence will be found to identify the killer. Too many bodies are found annually in the arid region near the Mexican border, and the authorities have become a little apathetic, to Logan’s way of thinking. He decides to stay in the area for awhile and conduct his own investigation, which subsequently attracts the attention of Zack Slater, a ruthless operator who makes millions through the importation of drugs and the transportation of illegal aliens.
4. Allegiance
An abandoned pier on the East River in New York City is the scene of a fatal shooting on a dark and rain swept October night.
Arnie Newman is a homicide detective, and has been lured to the deserted location by his CI (confidential informant) to be faced by armed men who work for Patrick Fallon; a businessman and gangster who aspires to be the city’s next mayor.
Arnie has information that could damage Fallon’s political career.
When Joe Logan arrives in the city, drawn back to his roots, he discovers that his ex-partner is in a coma and is not expected to survive, and that Arnie’s wife is in danger.
This time it’s personal, and Logan knows that the only way to protect Margie Newman and exact a fitting revenge is by taking on Fallon and his outfit.
5. Abduction
Three-year-old Kelly Ford has been taken. Her abductors steal people with the intent to exploit them or sell to a third party that deals in forced labor, slavery, sexual abuse, organ trading and murder.
Logan finds himself up against an organization that will not back down and return Kelly to her mother. If the little girl is ever to be seen again, he will have to take on a powerful outfit led by a full-blown sociopath, and time is running out.
Sometimes Logan has to take the law into his own hands and use extreme prejudice to right a wrong.
6. Accused
Six people suffer violent deaths in a diner on a lonely stretch of highway south of New Orleans.
A waitress – Ellie Mae Sawyer – escapes the scene, but having been a witness to the carnage she is now in extreme danger, knowing that the perpetrators will not rest until she has been found and silenced.
Joe Logan, an ex-NYPD homicide detective, lives off the grid, has no family, or any place to call home. He is a drifter who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is now accused of involvement in the multiple murders. He is on the run, and has the added problem of attempting to safeguard Ellie Mae as they flee through the swamplands of Louisiana.
Logan knows that sometimes the best form of defense is attack, and so decides to take the initiative; become the hunter instead of the quarry, and seek out and deal with a ruthless gangster and his paid killers.
Playing cat and mouse with lowlifes’ is not a new game to Logan, but in this particular case he will come face to face with a professional hitman who has never failed to eradicate a mark.
7. Abandoned:
After robbing a bank in Phoenix, Arizona, during which a security guard and the assistant manager are gunned down, the perpetrators head out of the city to a cabin off the beaten track, planning to lay low and share out the proceeds of several heists. A rockfall takes out the SUV that the robbers are driving, and three of them survive it, including Will Parker, the teenage stepson of the leader, Jack Mitchell. Having had no idea that Jack and the others were criminals, Will runs away from the scene of the accident when he sees the masks, weapons and money in the trunk. Joe Logan rounds a bend on a narrow mountain road, sees what has happened and stops to offer assistance, only to be shot at and slightly wounded. Diving over the cliff edge at the side of the road, he hides until he hears his Chevy Tahoe being driven away. Subsequently, and now in the company of the teenager, who knows the location of the cabin, Logan and Will they set off on foot across country.
Logan never turns the other cheek. He believes in an eye for an eye, and fully intends to, at very least, reclaim the vehicle and his backpack, that is in it.
