Dying Hour (#1) The answer to her prayers is the beginning of her nightmare. When a fight with her boyfriend drives Seattle student Karen Harding into one of the worst storms in years, all she wants to do is get to her sister’s place in one piece – instead she finds herself stranded on a desolate stretch of highway. But when a stranger pulls over to help, Karen is convinced someone’s been watching her. For rookie reporter Jason Wade, it’s the story he’s been waiting for and he knows he won’t rest until he sees Karen – dead or alive.
Every Fear (#2) On an ordinary morning, Maria Colson takes her baby son Dylan to the corner store. She only turns her back for a few seconds. When she looks again, the stroller is empty, and her terrified child is being shoved into a waiting van that vanishes without a trace. Settle Mirror reporter Jason Wade is under a lot of pressure to bring in a big story, and the Colson kidnapping could be it. It’s certainly a bizarre case with pieces that don’t add up: The Colsons are a hard-working couple. Former high school sweethearts. No problems. No enemies. The sort of people who shouldn’t have any connection any a grisly, unsolved murder. Now, in a dark Seattle underground of street girls, drug runners, and pimps, Jason is searching for the one puzzle piece that connects a baby’s disappearance with a vast criminal network. And time is running out, because whoever took little Dylan Colson is more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine.
A Perfect Grave (#3) The sins of the past shall not be forgiven. ‘A Murdered Nun’ – The face Sister Anne sees behind her in the mirror belongs to a man she knew years ago; the cold blade against her throat guarantees her silence. The story of his career – The shocking murder of this local ‘saint’ draws the attention of reporter Jason Wade. He is sure the police are hunting the wrong man – and that it is up to him to track down the real killer. Secrets from the past – His father’s demons tell Jason more about this murder than the police investigation ever could – revealing a story so twisted Jason will need all his wits to untangle the truth.
