Overview: Jewel
After running away from an abusive home, living homeless on the rough streets of New York, and losing the man he loves, Julian ‘Jewel’ McGinty has a chance at a fresh start. He’s earned a coveted internship with the NYPD as a Forensic Artist. He’s determined to give up on love and focus making his mark on the world.
He is willing to give up everything to achieve this goal. Julian was proud of his success as the drag performer Jewel, but for the first time in his life he’s contemplating returning to the closet to avoid possible bigotry from co-workers and future employers. This decision is confirmed when he meets that last person he ever expected to see again on the first day of his internship.
Connor Nash, the man he fell in love with and then was abandoned by, shouldn’t be here at the NYPD. He should be out of Jewel’s life forever. He should be in prison or on the run. Only he isn’t and his name isn’t Connor Nash, it’s Officer Connor O’Hare and he doesn’t recognize Julian as Jewel.
Will Jewel’s fresh start be ruined? Can he survive working with the man he loved and lost? Can Jewel find the courage to forgive and tell Connor who he really is?

Connor
After being viciously outed to the force by his cheating ex-boyfriend, Connor is forced to go undercover as a drag queen. His Captain has heard a rumor that the head of the Northeast Branch of the Columbian drug cartel is recruiting drag queens to be dealers and mules for his products. He thinks that Connor is perfect for this job.
Connor is convinced that this is a ridiculous idea and that he was only chosen because he is the only openly gay man on the force. He is insulted and humiliated. He had always disliked men who were flamboyantly feminine. He felt that they perpetuated the stereotype that all gay men were less masculine than straight men. The last thing he expected to happen while he was undercover was to find the man of his dreams.
Jewel was a true Irish beauty and different from any man that Connor had ever met. He was feminine and delicate and not at all Connor’s type, but the attraction between them was electric and Connor found himself breaking the rules. He knew that he shouldn’t pursue a relationship with Jewel, but he simply couldn’t resist the passion that erupts between them. Then the worst happens.
He makes a break in the case and has to return to the real world, his real life. The life that Jewel can never be a part of. He tells himself that he’d only be endangering Jewel by continuing a relationship, so he leaves Jewel without ever telling him the truth.
Connor has given up on love and is simply trying to learn how to live without the man he lost. Then Julian ‘Mac’ McGinty arrives as a new intern at his precinct and history repeats itself. Mac like Jewel is far from Connor’s usual type, but Connor is nonetheless drawn to him. He begins to believe in soulmates, love at first, and reincarnation.
There must be some magical or spiritual explanation for why he is falling for Mac so fast. There must be some reason that he feels so strongly connected to a man he’s only just met. It worries him that he’s in love with one man while falling for another. It also worries him that both men aren’t his type. They stand out instead of blending in.
Can Connor reconcile his feelings for both Mac and Jewel? Can he forgive Mac’s deception? Most importantly, can he give up his prejudices before they cost him his second chance at love?
