This Smartphone is sentient and is the coolest product on the planet. Kath and Pet become inseparable and together they embark on finding her a job, friends, and romance. Her adventures start the day she starts teaching and, the events that follow turn out to be far beyond her wildest dreams.
Dr Steven Dask works for a global pharmaceutical company in London developing antiretroviral drugs. When he discovers, from field trial data that the AIDS virus is mutating into a deadly strain, he fears it will wipe out the world population, but no one will listen to him. As a precaution, he secretly hides-away on a deserted island off the west coast of Scotland with his immediate family, and close friends. The pandemic occurs as he forecast, so for safety they plan to stay on the island for ten years. However, Holly a teenage member of the group, eager to know if anyone is alive, makes contacts with Kath using her sentient Smartphone, and they strike up a virtual friendship.
Kent an earthquake specialist from the USA accepts a job in New Zealand and, when the pandemic strikes becomes stranded. He meets Kath and, she hopes he will be her first boyfriend.
