Overview: Isaac Asimov’s Robots and Aliens is a series of novels written by various authors and loosely connected to Isaac Asimov’s Robot series. Each volume is complete in itself, but they form a continuing series. The series follows the action of the novels of the Isaac Asimov’s Robot City series, with the same protagonists Derec and Ariel, and many other characters. The plot deals with the Three Laws and encounters between robots and different varieties of alien life.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy
#1 – Changeling by Stephen Leigh: Derec is a man without memory, yet he is called to protect a metropolis of robots from deadly wolf-like creatures that threaten the city with destruction.
#2 – Renegade by Cordell Scotten: Derec traveled to an uncharted planet, where he found an incredible robotic intelligence about to violate the Three Laws of Robotics. Ariel followed Derec and discovered an alien race of shocking intelligence. It is up to Derec and Ariel to unravel the secrets of the robots and the aliens–before the planet erupts in an all-out war!
#3 – Intruder by Robert Thurston: Derec Avery has at last returned to the original Robot City, only to discover that it has been reprogrammed in ways that do not make sense. Together with Derec’s love, Ariel, and his father, he must find and defeat the Watchful Eye, the strange force that has bent the city to its own ends. Can they solve the new mystery of Robot City before it comes tumbling down around them?
#4 – Alliance by Jerry Oltion: Robot City has been restored, but can it last? Three shape-changing, renegade robots threaten to destroy the city, but are they really capable of disobeying the Three Laws? Derec and Ariel must convince the renegades that an alliance, not a robot revolution, is in their best interest-but will they succeed? The futures of mankind and robotkind wait for the answers!
#5 – Maverick by Bruce Bethke: With his memory destroyed, Derec’s only identity is tied by blood to a network of robotic cities. Derec should be able to control them, but something has gone wrong. The cities are out of his control–dangerously out of his control! Fifth in the series begun by Isaac Asimov.
