#1 – Descendants
In the early days of discovering warp technology a colonist ship was the forerunner to go out in search of a Goldilocks planet to colonize and promptly vanished. Now they have been found. UN Ambassador Chin Fergerson is on the first UN ship to Huron to bring the descendants into the UN’s embrace. Three hundred years separation from Earth has created a rift and no desire of the descendants to return Earth’s embrace. Survival of the colonists meant stepping over a moral line, a line the descendants continue to cross for their continued survival. As Ambassador Chin Fergerson struggles to negotiate with the descendants she discovers a secret so dark that it threatens to destroy her. Lies and secrets hide the chilling truth until it is too late. It is not only the descendants hiding the truth. The UN has its own lies and secrets that they don’t want discovered.
#2 – Isolation
Ghosts, mysterious lights, and a three hundred year old prophecy…
The trip to the planet Huron was supposed to be Chin’s last mission. She had used her clout to get on board the UN ship The Sunflower, as it dashed out to Huron immediately upon learning of the discovery of the lost colonists’ descendants. In their rush to reach the newly discovered world with native complex life, they learned too late they there was no return. They were stranded, isolated in a void of space surrounding Huron’s solar system.
Chin is desperate to find a way home, back to Earth, though it appears an impossible task. While waiting for the UN to come up with a solution, she is roped into negotiating the stages to establishing a new country for those who see Huron as a land of opportunity. The locals are convinced that the area they have chosen to settle is haunted. They also believe that Chin is either there to save them or destroy them. After three hundred years the details of the prophecy have gotten a bit murky.
Not only are the locals convinced that the area is haunted, there is growing evidence that advanced life forms had lived there thousands of years before the Fitzgerald colonists arrived.
Ghosts, mysterious lights, prophecies, and aliens…
There has to be a logical explanation because Chin doesn’t believe in any of that. She believes in cold, hard science and is determined to find the science that will provide the solution to fix their isolation from the rest of the universe.
