With the help of his kingdom’s gold, Marcus Aurelius has successfully enrolled at Holtzclaw Academy. He soon makes friends with a scholar mage, a merchant mage, and a princess battle mage. But being a wealthy newcomer from a far off kingdom also puts a target on Marcus’s back.
As he adjusts to life at the academy, he’ll have to deal with a thief, fellow students jealous of his abilities, and rumors of a dark mage hiding in plain sight. Then there’s the battle mage Princess Moriah who becomes life-bound to Marcus, against both of their wills.
The second year is full of even greater challenges, as he and Princess Moriah become life-bound to yet a third. Together, the three contend with a difficult faculty and a growing power they must continue to conceal.
And what of the looming invasion from a neighboring hostile kingdom lurking in the shadows? Marcus and his friends hold the key to their defense, but he may have to reveal his nature as a Master Mage. The mainland kingdoms killed the last Master Mage, Marcus’s grandfather forty generations removed. Can Marcus find a way to avoid all out destruction?
