It is a companion to Three Centuries of Public Art, a coffee-table book covering the public art, sculpture and monuments of the cities on as well as those in suburban & rural communities. Also interesting to record the changes: a few buildings were demolished, some newly designed, but with preserved facades, and many were ‘repurposed’ (architect term). Often people who worked & sometimes lived here or passed through some of these buildings’ doors have such fascinating stories that it is impossible to separate them from the buildings themselves.
