Overview: Excerpt: Jasper’s summer routine was something he’d look forward to everyday. In the mornings he would take his dog, Jan, for a walk. He had considered Jan as his ‘gal pal’ ever since he’d been forced into taking her by his parents. Normally he would have hated going for walks with Jan; she tugged the whole way down the street and peed every 30 seconds. This time, though, he came across some guys from his school playing football on a grassy field. His eyes had immediately gone to Troy, as he had the ball, and all of his suspicions he’d ever had about himself seemed to be confirmed. Luckily, he was walking through a path in a small forest with trees surrounding him because he stopped and stared for a long time. As soon as Jan started to yap at him he stopped drooling over Troy and continued walking.
