1. Afraid of No Ghost – T’was a Dark & Sexy Night when my bestie-with-benefits and I agreed to revamp the kink-themed hotel. We were expecting vibrating beds and heart shaped tubs, not a long-lost flame and certainly not a harem of love. But there’s more than just cobwebs in these closets. There’s nothing I enjoy more than making magic in the bedroom but taking on this ‘hotel of horrors’ is driving me crazy. Of course, I’m also having flashbacks of a sensual nature, involving the men around me and the summer I fell in love. The weird part is that some of these memories include the newest ghost hunter in town. But how can I have memories of a man I only just met? Is he the reason I’m being haunted?
I’m confident we can have the hotel ready in time for the grand opening, provided I can stay alive. But that might be easier said than done, with my unbalanced sister stalking me. Not to mention, the ghostly girl who keeps leading me down dark and dangerous hallways.
For a mystery obsessed woman like me, there’s only one thing to do. Click on my trusty flashlight and shine a light on it.
2. Hocus Poke Us – Hocus. Pocus. How Can I Focus? Between the sheets, the ‘hotel of horrors’ and the ‘firehouse fixer-upper, things are heating up for the Harem of Scarem.
There’s nothing I love more than a good, solid ride down the pole, but things get too hot to handle at the old firehall when we take on the new ghost hunters’ headquarters and find a skeleton in the locker. It seems a ghost of the past has come to rattle Neighborly Nate’s bones.
And just when the Monster Mansion is ready for our final magic touch, our party planner performs the ultimate vanishing trick. Unfortunately, she reappears ‘dead as a dummy’. Is the murderous magician up to his old tricks?
If my paranormal-investigative-boy-toy and I want to get rid of these ghosts, we’re going to have to dig deep. But with all this digging, my own scandalous past is on the verge of being uncovered. Thankfully we find asylum within the mahogany paneled walls of Verne Helsing’s home. And while I attempt to rip the rot from my brain, the boys rip apart the manor. Not surprisingly, Georgio’s family has its own ghost and she’s already knocking. So instead of just dealing with leaky faucets and a roof, we’re chasing down a legendary wolf?
No sooner is the first victim slashed than the Coven Café owner, Bess Marven confesses she’s responsible. Apparently, while attempting to summon the spirit of her dead mother, she accidently summoned the spirit of Wolfeboro’s infamous serial killer.
I want to help Drake investigate but I can’t be the lovable girl detective right now. I need to deal with the ghosts of my own past before moving on to others. Another psychiatrist, another brain-picking session, not what I was hoping for, but this doctor seems different. I haven’t been strapped to a bed yet. At least not by her and certainly not against my will.
