Bounty Hunters were a part of the historical Old West. A profession that has been written about and depicted in novels and movies for decades. Ash Lingam’s “Bounty Hunter Rancor Maleficent” is the first book in the Gunslinger Series, written in a style influenced by Sergio Leone and the spaghetti western films of the period. Rancor Maleficent is one of these men. Trading dollars for bodies as he hunts outlaws down for their reward. Assisted by Roberto, the duo of man-hunters travel the California Territories in the late 1800’s, taking the law into their own hands. Hunting down men of reckless blood for a living. Rancor, already a legend due to his violent nature, with his humor afflicted accomplice, Roberto Rodriguez, in their quest to trade flesh for cash. Like most bounty hunters, looking for an easy way to make a living even if it involves risking their lives in exchange. Or perhaps it is the very nature of the profession that attracts recklessly bold men. The two men are on the hunt for three ex-sheriffs, a four-fingered outlaw and an ex-Texas Ranger. Men who had strayed across the fine gray line between the law and the outlaw. Action, humor, and a good dose of lead makes this new series one of Lingams best.
Roberto Rodriguez continues to ride with the notorious Bounty Hunter, Rancor Maleficent. Hunting down wanted men of reckless blood, with money on their heads. From Mayweather and Stockton to the Barbary Coast of San Francisco, California these two soul snatchers continue to wreak violence on the outlaws of the west.In this second episode of the Bounty Hunter Gunslingers Series, the dangerous duo hunt down such infamous outlaws as Black Bart, Buck English and the feared Boris the Butcher. A world where villains were many and the honest were few. Above all, they were after the man-burner, Morb Shadows. A vile, violent outlaw who murders for fun, burning and hanging his victims for his own entertainment.
Texan born Tom Horn was a notorious bounty hunter during the decades in the closing scene of the nineteenth century and the Old West. A man considered by many to be a hero and by others an assassin. An Army scout who lived off this cash for flesh enterprise. He learned his skills of tracking and speaking the native languages from the Apache tribes. Then he used this same knowledge to kill those very people who had taught him. As he worked farther west and into California Horn encountered his old enemies, Rancor Maleficent and Marshal Hoss Cole. The ever-humorous Roberto Rodriguez brings this unlikely crew together to make a final strike against the violent outlaws of the far West. Once again
Marshal Rusty "Hoss" Cole was the law of Middletown County, California. He joins up with the bounty hunters, Rancor Maleficent and Roberto Rodriguez, along with ex-Texas Ranger Rowdy Bates, Sheriff Biff Bain of Mayweather and a scribbler from the Chicago Evening Post, as the men make their way across Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming to attend the hanging of the infamous Tom Horn. Their destination was the Wild West town of Cheyenne. Train robberies, stray Comanche, Vigilante parties, and lost Cheyenne Braves are all a part of this Western Adventure. Eventually taking the Federal Marshal across the line between the bounty hunter and the lawman, where the difference between the legal and the illegal is a fine gray line in the dust. This line is often not clearly visible, allowing for a man to inadvertently stray to the other side of the law without even noticing it.
