She is still recovering from the events of the first book but is trying to regain some semblance of normalcy in her life.
Luckily, she has the darkly handsome Deamon, Avon Urie, who seems to be the only one she can turn too. However, interference from her father threatens not only her budding relationship but her very sanity. In a world where she comes from a family of heroes, she is trying desperately not to become a victim again but the very fates themselves seem to have other plans.
