Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy Post-Apocalyptic
Fallen State (#1)
When Owen Delancey was pushed down the steps after gym class, the year was 2022. Instead of waking in a hospital, Owen springs from an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room. The woman in bed with him claims that the year is 2123 and that they have been married for six years. They live alone in an abandoned building she calls the Rook, but in three months, their child will be born.
The lights of Owen’s little hometown in Colorado are no more. Fields of cotton stretch beneath the dark ruins of the city below him. A river lazes through the darkness in the east. A long ridge covered in razor wire and wind turbines curves out to his west. The ruins surrounding him are Detroit, a city that is no longer part of America. His supposed wife, Teah, claims they are refugees of the Second American Civil War.
America has fallen.
Canada has built a wall.
Owen Delancey must decide if he will embrace this new life or find his way home.
Built for War (#2)
In the twenty-second century, soldiers no longer experience the mental trauma of war. Instead, the neural lace replaces memories of traumatic events with childhood memories that never occurred. Without fear or regret, these soldiers fight with surgical precision and extreme prejudice.
Twelve of these neural-laced soldiers have been tasked with protecting the precious water stores of the Western States of America. With a tenuous peace in the balance, these soldiers, dubbed Knights, have been tasked with escorting a delegation over the Great American Wastelands to the enemy capital, Washington, D.C.
When command leader Owen Delancey’s escort vehicle is struck down by insurgents, he and his partner race to uncover a conspiracy meant to undermine diplomatic efforts and keep the continent at war. But as he struggles with memories that are not entirely his own, Delancey must decide if he will continue to uncover the truth or bring the war to a swift and conclusive end.
Border Run (#3)
After the fall of Washington, D.C., communications expert Althea Lancey travels the western fringes of the Eastern States, searching for survivors of her network and attempting to deliver a final message about the current state of the Union. Hers is a dangerous profession.
The last outpost she seeks is in the fallen city of Cleveland. With the help of two border runners named Dot and Dash, Althea delivers that last message.
The Eastern States have fallen. No help will come.
With her mission nearly complete, Althea improvises one last message: Amnesty is coming to an end. Canada closes its border to refugees tomorrow. Send your children north.
Targeted for helping spread such a dangerous message, Dot and Dash’s militia network is swiftly destroyed, leaving the two children without refuge.
Reluctantly, Althea agrees to help Dot and Dash reach the Canadian border, but to get there, they must race against the clock, all the while avoiding pirates and coyotes on the way to the only remaining entry point into Canada—the infamous, walled border city of Dearborn.
