The Ghosts of Landover Mystery series Box Set by Etta Faire (#1-4)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 1.2 MB
Overview: Welcome to Landover where small-town secrets meet the paranormal. And nobody’s confessing to anything…Carly Taylor is only returning to Landover for one reason. Her awful ex-husband left her his house when he died, which was nice, but strange, considering he had a new wife and other beloved family members he could easily have left everything to. But still, a free house is a free house. And a dead ex is sometimes a bonus. Then, when she opens the door to the old Victorian, she sees why. He’s haunting the place, wanting her to figure out which one of his “beloved family members” did him in. And, according to him, the only real way to know what happened is for Carly to combine energy with him in a channeling to relive his murder minute by minute, together. It’s the beginning of a strange new journey for Carly, one that involves strong mediumship abilities, a curse, and a bunch of dead clients waiting to get their cold cases solved, and a dead ex-husband.
Genre: Fiction > Mystery/Thriller
1. Over My Dead Husband’s Body
Carly should have known inheriting her dead ex-husband’s house was too good to be true. Everything has a catch, and not every catch can be thrown back. His ghost wants her to solve his murder. She’s in no hurry to help him, until his murder seems eerily tied to the missing strippers in the area (because her ex did like strippers). Through channeling, Carly is taken straight to the night her ex was poisoned to relive his visit to the strip club step by step, take down the clues, and figure out what happened.
2. After the Suffragette’s Suicide
Carly meets her first ghost-client in book two: suffragette and local women’s rights leader, Bessilyn Hind. According to history, Bessilyn committed suicide at her 35th birthday party after her fiancé broke up with her. Only one problem: she doesn’t remember it that way. She’s appalled history books have been written that imply she would do something so drastic over a man. And she wants to know who murdered her (along with retractions on history, pronto). Through channeling, Carly is taken right to the party in 1906 to figure things out for the suffragette.
3. Behind the Boater’s Cover-Up
The third book features a story the Landover locals refer to as "the accident." In 1957, a group of recent high-school graduates went late-night partying on a boat after a sock hop. They didn’t return. In the end, it was ruled an unfortunate accident. The only problem: Gloria Thomas, one of the partiers that night, has a different version. And Carly is going to help her set the record straight. However, while channeling with the ghost and reliving the memories from 1957, Carly sees her older friends back when they were younger, and the shocking way the accident was covered up. Turns out, there are a lot of secrets in Landover, and like the dead, they’re much safer buried.
4. Under the Cheater’s Table
Book four has Carly headed to the 1920s and a speakeasy, but the ghost she’s channeling with is a bit of a cheater and too much of a possible demon for her tastes. It’s little wonder why the awful man ended up with his throat slashed in 1923. The only question is which one of his eight best friends actually did it during the snowstorm that traps them all. Carly channels with the cheater, and learns the hard way that cheaters usually cheat everyone, including the medium who’s trying to help them.
