Overview: In a very distant future, planet Earth has changed its name into “Zae Shian” and is now the Capital of the “Zae Shian Empire” which includes a big quantity of planets and systems all through the universe. All starships travel now faster than light speed and distance is no more a problem.
The Emperor is elected by the Imperial Senate which is divided in two big wings: “The Liberalunitary Party” composed of rich bourgeois most of them representatives of big Industrial and Trading Companies which do business throughout the whole Empire, and, on the other side “The Ecliarchs”, i.e. high Priests of the official religion of the Empire who control mostly the trade of raw material and extraction of ores.
The story tells about the attempt of Prince Ghalēos to help Senator Tarbron Keril to be elected. Unfortunately things will not go as planned and Ghalēos will be sent into exile but he will be able to turn his misfortune into his luck.
Years later, in a nearby system, outside the Empire, another Prince is trying to make his way to power.
The years stated in the novel refer to the “Zae Shian Era” and are far beyond our traditional counting.
