Requirements: ePUB Reader, 4.5 Mb
Overview: I began writing at the age of eight, and wrote my way through the lean years, more than one marriage, single motherhood, and moving to the Big Apple on a wing and a prayer, with fifteen women’s fiction novels to show for it. Every life experience I’ve weathered has found its way into my novels in one form or another:bad exes, births, deaths, divorces, pregnancy scares, true crime (I was nearly kidnapped, at age 12, by the stranger whose car your parents warned you not get it into). It’s all part of the alchemy that makes for fictional gold.
Genre: Romance

Garden of Lies: On a hot July night in 1943, Sylvie gives birth to a dark-haired child she knows is the child of her lover. Realizing that her husband will not accept the child as his own, she finds deliverance from her impossible dilemma: amidst a raging fire in the hospital, Sylvie claims the fair-haired baby girl of a dead woman as her own, leaving her real daughter to be raised by strangers.
Rachel and Rose grow up worlds apart. Rachel is raised in the lap of Manhattan luxury, an ice princess determined to be a great doctor; Rose, in the slums of New York City, yields to passion too young yet escapes heartbreak to become a prominent lawyer. Neither of them knows the terrible secret which draws them ever closer as they both fall in love with the same man-bringing them face to face with the truth about each other and themselves.

Thorns of Truth: Rachel and Rose, now women with grown children of their own, find themselves face-to-face at last with the destiny that has haunted them for nearly half a century, since the two were switched at birth in the chaos of a hospital fire. What confronts them now threatens to uproot a lifetime of deeply buried secrets: the impending marriage of Rose’s capable and caring son to Rachel’s emotionally troubled daughter. Once again the two women and their families are pitted against each other … just as Rachel learns that her mother, Sylvie, is dying. Only Rose knows that Sylvie is in reality her mother – and she yearns to be recognized as Sylvie’s own before it’s too late. A widow coping with the loss of her husband – yet powerfully attracted to an engaging talk-show host recovering from wounds of his own – Rose turns to her mother for help. In frail health, but still strong in spirit, Sylvie must choose between the intricate web of lies behind which she shields her loved ones … and a truth that will shatter the lives of both her daughters – as well as that of her fragile granddaughter – before it can begin to heal them.
