Overview: From Terror to Freedom is a great personal story of growing up in a shallowly Islamic Iran facing the epicenter of civil unrest as the Ayatolla Khomeini over threw the Shah, makes a fascinating story. Mr. Bakh survived to tell Americans this unique experience. It is a clear warning to Americans of the dangers of Islamic radicals. Iran’s Islamic followers did not seem dangerous during the Shah but as circumstances changed their opportunistic and brutal side awoke and Sharia law became the law of the land legalizing polygamy and then on to other business. This true story provides a profound example of how a country can be taken over. These lessons can easily be applied to what is happening in the United States today. The lesson that Mano Bakh’s story teaches us is that the unthinkable can happen and it can happen very fast, even here in America.
Mano Bakh was a high ranking officer in Iran’s Imperial Navy when, in 1979, during the Islamic revolution, he miraculously escaped with his life. The harrowing experiences he was subjected to currently exemplify the free world’s necessity to deal with the ongoing aggressive Islamic movement and the oil money that supports it. Mr. Bakh was born a Muslim, but became disenchanted with the religion whose mission was to kill or convert all who did not believe in the teachings of the Koran. His candid understanding of what happened to a country that was once America’s best friend and then turned into an Axis of Evil, will educate the readers of his book as to why that Evil might not be realized until it is too late.
