Overview: This experiments manual contains a wide variety of tests and experiments designed to aid students in understanding electrical principles and applications. The structure and content of this experiments manual parallel the theory presented in the companion textbook, Electricity: Principles and Applications, Ninth Edition. Students using this manual will find that working with basic circuits will enhance their understanding of the theory. This manual contains many troubleshooting experiments. Some of these experiments can be performed by using real components and instruments or by using Multisim. Multisim is an interactive circuit simulation software package that allows the user to view their circuit in schematic form while measuring various parameters of the circuit. In this edition, the experiments presented in the first seven chapters are primarily concerned with direct current, and those in Chaps. 8 through 13 deal with alternating current. The manual also includes a selected group of advanced problems. All of the experiments and advanced problems will enhance and foster skills used by electronic technicians. The advanced problems may be chosen to serve the needs of a particular class or group of students, as well as the physical facilities available (such as shops and labs). The parts required for the experiments are standard materials available from many different hardware and electronic parts distributors. Whenever possible, the same components are used in more than one experiment. All of the experiments and advanced problems have been thoroughly classroom-tested.
