Overview: Prologue :
Debbie loved traveling through Europe. This was her twenty-third trip to the continent since the events of 9/11. As a child, she traveled extensively with her parents when she was an Army brat growing up near Stuttgart, Germany. Born in 1978, during the cold war, back when there was still an ‘Iron Curtain’ and an East and West Berlin. Her father was an officer in the U.S. Army, who occasionally traveled to the American Sector of Berlin in East Germany and during their down time, often strolled near the Brandenburg Gate of the Berlin Wall where she sometimes watched the other kids at play on the Eastern side. Some would stop to stare back at her, she would wave at them; some would wave back and were usually hustled indoors.
