Emergence by Carol Buhler (Lillith Chronicles)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader | 360 kb
Overview: On the lush Terra-like planet, Gareeth, intelligent winged beings resembling horses are loving and infinitely patient with their humanoid mind-mates. It was only sparsely occupied by the two sentient species when colonists from Earth arrived, seeking new land to make their home. Fortunately, the humanoid don and equine-like reeth welcomed the newcomers, extending their aid and friendship. For fifty years, humans spread across the principal continent, reminiscent of vast, fertile North America. But human history repeats itself, even in the far distant future. Individuals began to covet their neighbors’ holdings which lead to war.
Don and reeth refused to participate and were attacked by their new friends. They withdrew, using their telepathic mind control to convince the humans they’d never existed in the first place.
Now, four hundred years later, humans have proportioned the continent into individually governed city-states and settled into relative peace. The reeth and don, however, find themselves in dire straits and desperately need to re-connect with the humans for help. Forward thinkers of both species look to Lillith to inspire her mind-mate Joedon, the hereditary but reluctant Supreme Don, to lead them safely through their emergence, while terror-struck factions resist every step of the way.
The fear? Once contact is made, will the humans help, or seek to enslave Lillith’s people as they’d tried to do before?
