Overview: An overactive imagination and open-minded upbringing made for the perfect combination to create the author Styna Lane would eventually become. Raised to believe originality and creativity were the keys to happiness, she was instilled with the knowledge that most of life’s boundaries are far more fictional than the Fantasy books in which she secluded herself.
Having lived in six different states by the time she was nineteen, Styna is no stranger to the road. After spending the majority of her life chasing her dreams wherever they led her, she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010, which confined her to her bed much of the time.
Following a small bout of self-loathing, Styna decided she would not let these new boundaries have control over her. She began to utilize her most prevalent childhood trait: her overactive imagination. Styna quickly found that writing the adventures she created in her mind provided her with a total escape from her physical confines.
Styna hopes to bring awareness to Invisible Illnesses, as well as inspire those who may have thought they’d gone on their last adventure.

1. The Energy Room
Angela Dawson lives in a tiny apartment on the tenth floor, with white walls, white floors, a window full of lies, and a hidden camera in the corner of the ceiling. The hall leads to five other apartments exactly like her own… except they’re all empty, and always have been.
Angie has been raised in the captivity of The Facility for as long as she can remember. Though she is able to manipulate elements, The Facility developed a means of preventing her from using her abilities outside of testing, after her first failed escape attempt as a child. These “Electro-Cuffs” deliver a nasty shock as soon as they detect that she is about to use her abilities, and ensure that she is truly under their control.
Now almost eighteen years old and with no hope of escape, Angie seems to have surrendered to her life of testing, poking, and prodding within the thirty-floor, underground prison. That is, until a suspicious, young psychologist is hired to crack open her most protected secret: the locations of the five others like herself, to whom she is connected in her dreams.
Faced with decisions based on trust, love, deceit, and breakfast foods, Angela’s transformation into an adult, and into a human being, is far more extraordinary than she could have ever imagined within the suffocating walls that raised her.
2. The Violet Awakening
Angela Dawson thought she had left the white walls of The Facility behind her for good, but the combination of a suspicious earthquake and a picture of a familiar face forces her to realize that she was mistaken.
A new darkness within the underground-prison beckons her return, and leads to a decision no person should ever have to make. Weighing the value of revenge against the value of life, Angie has no choice but to accept that she may not be the kind of person she’d thought she was.
An encroaching threat makes the prospect of war all too real, and the sudden urgency to locate the others from her generation leaves Angie with an unnerving realization; The Elementums may have more dangerous things to worry about than The Destructive Ones.
