Overview: Silver was born in Singapore, where he decided it was a great idea to bounce between career options three different times. He has been a biomedical researcher, a game designer, and a computer scientist. Now he’s writing books with a touch of absurd charm, a healthy helping of hope, and topped off with a little sprinkle of existential terror. You know, as a treat.

The Fabric of Reality, 1 | Four friends work together to break the system and make the world a better place in this cozy, fun-filled fantasy-adventure filled with twists and turns.
In the Prime Kingdoms, the system dominates everything. It dictates one’s strength, skills, and power. It spawns dungeons and guides the actions of their monsters. But every system has its limits, and it’s about to push four oddball adventurers to theirs.
First there’s Derivan, an enchanted suit of armor in the middle of an existential crisis. And then there’s the tanklike half-orc Misa, who loves exploiting the system but misses her family—unlike the anxious-but-lovable Vex, a lizardkin wizard who’s run away from his own. And lastly there’s Sev, a cleric who would rather have tea with his god than worship him. None are prepared when a simple quest goes off the rails, interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious dungeon linked to each of them.
Something is deeply wrong within the Prime Kingdoms. The system is malfunctioning, and the world itself seems to be falling apart. If Derivan, Misa, Vex, and Sev hope to survive—let alone determine the source of the chaos—they must rely on their trust for one another, share their secrets, and perhaps even engage in a bit of healthy communication.
Now if only everyone else would do the same . . .
The Nature of Magic, 2 | There’s a disturbance in the Prime Kingdoms. The system that everyone depends on is generating errors. The gods are in danger. Magic itself is fluctuating and becoming less reliable. Meanwhile, four adventurers seem to be the only ones to realize the night sky shouldn’t be empty . . .
Outcasts all, this foursome has become a family. They are Sev, a healer with a penchant for sacrificing too much; Misa, a half-orc woman never afraid of a fight; Vex, a lizardkin wizard grappling with his feelings for one of his teammates; and Derivan, a sentient suit of armor who’s learning to deal with, well, feelings in general. Together, they are on a diplomatic mission for their guild, traveling to the kingdom of Elyra to provide emergency relief as magic continues to malfunction and crops fail to grow.
But while this team can hold their own in battle against bandits or simple dungeon monsters, the complex mysteries their realm continues to throw at them are another matter. For now, all they can do is try to make the world a better place. And that’s exactly what they plan to do—until they arrive in the town of Fendal and everything there seems just a little too perfect . . .
The Meaning of Life, 3 | Monsters and mysteries challenge everything four friends think they know about their crumbling magical world as this fantasy-adventure series continues.
There’s a crisis in Elyra, and the Adventurers’ Guild has dispatched a team of four heroes to address it. With both magic and the system that dictates the nature of everything malfunctioning, the world is in jeopardy. Unfortunately for the world, the heroes aren’t doing so well either.
Following a challenging battle, the foursome is regrouping in a reality not unlike their own, where magic, instead of the system, saved the world. Sev, the team’s human priest, is still trying to figure out how his history plays into everything that’s been happening. The normally brave half-orc Misa is grappling with failure and fear. Lizardkin wizard Vex is haunted by his past as he works to pave a path to the future. And sentient suit of armor Derivan must navigate both the mysteries of days gone by and his new relationship with Vex. At least they’re closer to discovering the root of Elyra’s troubles—if only they could get back there.
Meanwhile in Elyra, the seeds of resistance are beginning to sprout. Not everyone—even amongst the nobles—is fine with the status quo. But can a rebellion succeed when the kingdom itself is on the verge of falling apart?
