Overview: Earworm [eer-wurm]
noun
1. A catchy song or tune that runs continually through a person’s mind
Ripley awakes with an earworm in his head. It starts with the songs, but now, it’s talking to him. “Call me Bogart,” the voice informs him. “And we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
2. An ancient parasite that uses humans as host
Ripley and his earworm, Bogart, are now in a race against time to save his family from the murderous clutches of an ancient alien race bent on enslaving mankind
After being diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease, losing his wife, and being deterred from visiting his only daughter, Ripley McCain doesn’t want anything more from life except to dull the pain until he finally dies. The universe, however, has a different plan for him. If the recent voice in his head is correct, Ripley has one more chance to be a father and husband, not to mention save mankind from a fate worse than death. Or perhaps he’s simply hallucinating, and this is all just symptoms of his medical condition. Either way, he’s going out with a bang.
Both horrific and heartwarming, Earworm is a bizarre tale of consciousness, ancient aliens, conspiracies, and a whole lot more!
