Defence solicitor Martin Turner is found stabbed to death at his workplace. Contrary to expectations, he wasn’t burning the midnight oil, building an iron-clad defence for one of his many clients, but sleeping off a night on the booze.
In the past, Turner had defended many high-profile murderers and soon the investigation focusses on one of those. When another lawyer in the practice dies, Henderson realises they have been following the wrong path.
They eventually catch a break when the perpetrator, in a bid to tie up loose ends and cover his tracks, makes a mistake. It leaves Henderson facing a ruthless and intelligent individual who will stop at nothing, even killing a cop, to ensure he escapes justice.
