American Cybernetics, Inc., developed biologically-derived androids in the 2020s. By 2064, droids were an everyday sight as the world recovered from two decades of a deadly plague and warfare.

Droids were programmed for almost every task, from domestic help to combat. A few, like lisa 001B, were special order models, created for specific purposes. Whatever the command, the droids were bound to obey it unhesitatingly.

Until, that is, a computer virus was launched that overrode all of the passivity programmed into them. Now the droids are questioning their second-class place in society. Serving humanity has been replaced by an even higher priority — self preservation. For lisa, that command comes with a high price. . .
