Overview: From opposite ends of the political spectrum, Garcia Olson and Clinton Jefferson are two college students who are drawn together despite their differences. The men fall madly in love, and they begin to plan a future that includes marriage and children. Clinton’s goal to run for elected office as a conservative raises difficult questions for their relationship, but the couple intends on overcoming any challenges together.
After graduation, Clinton is offered an internship out of state, while Garcia stays to help his friends at their club when one partner falls ill. It is there that Garcia discovers a love for performing in drag.
Scared that Garcia’s new gig may jeopardize his chance in politics, Clinton issues an ultimatum that Garcia cannot accept, which leads to the couple’s breakup. While apart, both men experience devastating hardships that leave them each indelibly changed. Then Clinton shows up years later at one of Garcia’s shows and claims to still love him and wants to try again. Are the two still as drawn to one another as they were back in college, or is it too late to go back?
