1. The Sieve
“I am here to redeem the lives of my wife and daughter. I’ve brought the offering.”
Da-Ren, an infidel barbarian, arrives at the Castlemonastery, his only offering a jar of honey. Baagh, the Cross Sorcerer, follows him there under orders of the Emperor, demanding from the monks to transcribe the warrior’s story.

2. Uncarved
“How do the Uncarved die? They bleed to death. Always.”
Fourteen-winter-old Da-Ren joins the Uncarved, the chosen few destined to lead the Tribe. More than forty children train and compete for the next five springs; only one will become Khun and fulfill the Tribe’s destiny.
Da-Ren’s ambition and strength will keep him alive but can he overcome his most powerful and cunning adversary, the one favored by witches and men? The Goddess and the Ouna-Mas will try to nest in his heart, but is he prepared for the one woman he is brought up to hate?
3. Firstblade
A bloody campaign to the ends of the earth, fierce battles against the armies of the Cross, a thirteen-moon siege of a great city, and an undying dream to return to the Forest.
Book III is the turning-point of Da-Ren’s story as the Tribe invades the seven cities of the South. Myths unravel and legends drown in the blood of the innocent. Da-Ren learns of new gods, none as powerful as gold. He pays for victories with nightmares, for wisdom with loss. Empires crumble and cities are reduced to ruins, but there is no glorious story to guide him to the stars. Only a faint hope that metamorphosis awaits at the end of the journey.
4. Butterfly
After five years of war, Da-Ren returns to Sirol hoping to reunite with Zeria. Once again he has to stand between the fanatics of his tribe and the innocent. The more he strives for peace, the deeper he dives into a web of murder and deceit.
Da-Ren manages to become master of his fate, breaking all ties with gods, witches, and Khuns. But Malan and Sah-Ouna will return, and the prophecy of the Final Battle will be fulfilled. Everyone’s destiny converges to the same battlefield. Everyone dreams of glory. No one will be ready for the bloodbath. No one will be ready for the secrets that are buried deep.
