27. Double Chocolate Pistachio Murder – When Heather Shepherd discovers that the Hillside Annual Bake-Off has been canceled, she’s frustrated – she already had her newest batch of donuts prepared to wow the judges.
But that frustration dissolves when she finds out the reason for the postponement: a Hillside reporter has been murdered on the night before the televised competition’s start. Heather decides she has to solve the case, and bustles into another murder mystery, equipped with her thirst for the truth, encouragement from all her friends at Donut Delights, and, as always, a box of her newest creation: Double Chocolate Pistachio Donuts. As always, the truth is difficult to find, thanks to a jealous best friend, a long-suffering boss, and a man, who seems to disappear at will.
Heather has to figure this one out before the killer strikes again, or the Hillside Ultimate Bake-off will never reach TV.
28. Peppermint Glazed Murder – When Heather Shepherd goes on a pre-birthday outing to a skydiving range, the last thing she expects to find is a crime scene and a distraught mother.
Heather is horrified, and decides to take on yet another case, whether Ryan and the good officers at the Hillside Police Department need her or not. She ignores the suggestion that she take a week off for her birthday, and sets off on another adventure, armed with her keen sense of justice, a bestie who’s more squeamish than helpful and several boxes of Lavender Grape Dust Donuts. But this mystery is a true challenge: almost every suspect comes from within the victim’s close family and boy, are there a lot of them. The answers are close, but threaten to slip between Heather’s fingers, even as an arrest is made.
Heather must get to the bottom of this one or risk a killer on the loose and the chance of just the worst birthday party ever.
29. Hot Chocolate Glazed Murder – When Heather Shepherd arrives home in time to witness her car being stolen, she’s alarmed, to say the least.
But that alarm turns to horror when she receives a call from her husband, Detective Shepherd, who tells her that her car was used in a hit and run. The victim? One of Hillside’s most notorious gossips and hated people: Sharon Janis. Heather can’t let this one lie. She has to solve this case and sets off on another sleuthin’ adventure. Equipped with a box of her Christmas treats, Hot Chocolate Glazed Donuts, her desire for the truth, and some help from her detective hubby, she sifts through the clues. But, as usual, things aren’t simple in the slightest. There’s no shortage of suspects and the evidence doesn’t seem to add up to match any of them.
It’s starting to look a lot like a Christmas murder season for Heather and the gang. Heather must solve the case or risk a Hillside killer on the loose, with a thirst for revenge.
30. Peanut Butter Fudge Murder – When Heather Shepherd attends a gingerbread workshop on a Sunday afternoon, the last thing she expects to stumble upon is a dead body and yet another murder mystery.
But that’s exactly what happens – Heather is cast into another case, and to make matters worse, the victim is a well-loved businesswoman without family or any close friends. Heather has to put on her thinking cap for this one, but she won’t let a case slip through her fingers. She sets off on yet another sleuthin’ journey, armed with a box of Peanut Butter Fudge donuts, a little help from her ambitious bestie and lot of determination, she snoops her way through Hillside. But suspects and physical evidence are few and far in between in this case.
Heather’s only Christmas wish this year, is to bring another Hillside murderer to justice. If only she can do it before the killer strikes again

Heather is determined to figure this one out and sets off on a Christmas sleuthin’ adventure, armed with a box of her Christmas Donuts and a lot of help from her ever-sarcastic bestie. This one should be easy – all the suspects were in the house at the time of the victim’s death. Except it never is: some suspicious internet activity has invoked the involvement of the FBI and they make it clear, Heather’s special brand of investigation, isn’t welcome.
Heather’s caught between her integrity and the desire to have a care-free Christmas. She’s got to solve the case before the FBI and the local authorities botch another investigation.
32. Lavender Grape Dust Murder – When Heather Shepherd finds out that Thaddeus Turlington, elderly movie star, has been murdered at Hillside Manor, she’s alarmed, to say the least.
That alarm deepens when she finds out that his will is being contested by both his heirs – the famous sister and brother Turlington duo. Heather has to get to the bottom of this one, and hurries into the investigation head first and equipped with her keen eye, a box of Lavender Grape Dust Donuts, and the desire to get this one done before the New Year arrives. But the suspects are numerous and all seem to have a reason to have murdered the victim. Heather has her work cut out for her, even though she’s taken a week off from her donut-creating routine.
Heather knows there’s more to this one than meets the eye – she has to solve it before the clock strikes 12, or she’ll ring in the New Year stressed out and with a killer on the loose in her beloved Hillside.
33. Neapolitan Delight Murder – When Heather Shepherd attends the opening show of the new Hillside Cinema with her hubby and police detective, Ryan, the last thing she expects is to witness a murder, along with all the other guests.
But that’s exactly what happens, and Heather is thrust headfirst into another case. The only trouble is the victim is a man with a misty background, and finding out what happened to him won’t be easy. There’s hardly any evidence to work with in the case. Armed with her a box of her Neapolitan Delight Donuts, a thirst for the truth, and a little bit of extra help from her bestie Amy, Heather sets off to solve yet another murder case in not-so-sleepy Hillside. But, as always, there’s more to this case as she first perceives, and digging into the past might provide the answers.
Heather’s convinced this murder isn’t like any of the others, and that the murder mystery runs deeper than flesh and bone, into the annals of Hillside’s history, itself.
38. Raspberry Coulis Murder – When Heather Shepherd takes a lunch break at the local pizzeria, the last thing she expects is to stumble upon another crime scene.
She’s horrified when the chef at the establishment is found in the kitchen with a stab wound to his chest. But that horror won’t dampen Heather’s investigative spirit. She embarks on yet another sleuthin’ adventure, determined to find out more about the victim and his killer. Equipped with her best friend’s help, a box of her Raspberry Coulis Donuts and the burning desire to prove that she’s the best P.I. in Hillside, Heather hurries down the twisted path to the truth. But as always, things aren’t as simples as they seem – the murder weapon is missing, the wife doesn’t seem too sad and a stranger has been seen lurking around the pizzeria.
Heather must solve this one or risk losing the killer and her reputation as Hillside’s first and only Private Eye.
40. Kiwi Lime Surprise Murder – When Heather Shepherd and the crew from Donut Delights start their Key West escape, the last thing they expect to find is a dead body by the pool.
But that’s exactly what happens – one of the waiters at their hotel has been murdered and in a totally ‘Florida’ way. Heather is drawn to the case, immediately, and embarks on another sleuthin’ adventure. Equipped with a desire for truth, her best friend’s help and a couple Kiwi Lime Surprise Donuts for good luck, Heather decides that this case is hers. But things in Key West aren’t always what they seem, and Heather has to solve this one without any help from the police, while Florida’s weird and wonderful characters hover in her peripherals, tempting her with truth and lies.
Heather has to figure this one out before the week ends and she has to fly back to Hillside, or an exotic murderer will remain on the loose.
41. Peaches and Cream Murder – When Heather Shepherd starts work on a Monday in her beloved Donut Delights, she’s preparing for a murder-free week.
But another body turns up – the owner of the local Tourism Depot has been murdered and the evidence at the crime scene tampered with. Heather can’t let this one slide, especially since it appears that someone is out to sabotage the investigation. Armed with a box of her Peaches and Cream Donuts, a thirst to put another case to rest, and Amy, who’s finally qualified to investigate alongside her, Heather embarks on another sleuthin’ adventure. But the mixed up evidence, the lack of leads and the strange behavior from the victim’s family members stands in the way of truth and justice.
Heather must get to the bottom of this one or risk another negative report in the newspaper and a Hillside murderer on the loose.
