14. Cinnamon Nut Crunch Murder
When Heather Shepherd hears that Detective Davidson’s daughter, Tara, has just been found dead, she’s horrified.
Her horror soon turns to shock, when Davidson turns up at Donut Delights and makes it clear that Heather is his prime suspect. Heather is set on finding the truth, armed with her new knowledge thanks to her forensics course, and her bestie and doggy Dave for company, she sets out to solve the mystery. But internal issues at the police station see Ryan kicked off the case, leaving Heather bare to the attentions of a non-too-please Davidson. She had to balance an influx of orders for Cinnamon Crunch donuts, and the mystery or she might end up losing it all.
Heather has to find her focus or she might be blinded by the facts in this case. Sleuthing has just become as complicated as her recipe for cinnamon crumbles.
15. Chocolate Crunch Murder
When Heather Shepherd hears that the owner of her favorite burger bar has been murdered, she can’t believe her ears. To make matters worse, her employee, Jung, who just happened to be best friends with the victim, is the main suspect.
Heather refuses to believe that her assistant could have anything to do with it and decides to help Ryan with his new case – off the record, of course. Equipped with her sleuthin’ prowess and a couple new and old friends for company, she hurries over to the closed restaurant to investigate. But things aren’t as simple as they seem. There are pest troubles in the neighborhood, a large order of Chocolate Crunch Donuts to fill, a potentially violent grandma to interview, and an ever-snooping Geoff Lawless to contend with before she can get to the bottom of this sweet caper.
Heather must use her talent to figure it out, or the creepy killer might just strike again when the residents of Hillside least expect it.
19. Caramel Glazed Murder
When Heather Shepherd hears that one of her regular customers is dead thanks to one of Donut Delights’ milkshakes, she’s horrified.
Especially when it turns out that the person who delivered that milkshake is none other than Amy, the donut maker’s best friend. Heather won’t let this one slide, especially with Amy’s reputation on the line. Backed by her new diploma and the aid of her husband, Heather sets out to get to the bottom of the case, along with a bit of hapless help from Dave and Amy, herself. But things are heating up in the kitchen at Donut Delights – there are countless orders to fill thanks to her newest creations Caramel Glazed Donuts, and she has to deal with the attentions of an ominous stranger, to boot.
Heather has to figure it out or risk losing her best friend and respect as Hillside’s newest P.I. Cum donut maker extraordinaire.
25. Choc Churro Murder
Heather turns her sadness into determination when she realizes that the suspects are fewer than her last case, and the evidence is in short supply. Once again, her old nemesis Geoff Lawless might be involved, except this time, it’s his family who has the most to gain from the murder. Heather sets out to solve the case, equipped with her knowledge, patience and her Choc Churro Donuts. But there’s always a problem, this time it’s Geoff’s abject fear in the presence of the one woman he should trust more than any other: his sister. Heather can’t shake the feeling that the truth is just around the corner.
She must solve the mystery, or the true killer will get away with more than murder this time around.
