Overview: Hello! I’m a writer from Nebraska who enjoys fantasy of all kinds. Stories don’t always seem quite as much fun without some element of magic.
I started out writing romances because that’s what my best friend and I loved to read. (My other best friend and I wrote about our science teacher being an alien and hard boiled detectives.) I have a varied and exciting inner fantasy life, you might say.
My first full length novel was a fun private detective, contemporary, crazy love story. I’m working on rewrites so that I can get it out into the world. The first book I’ve published is an urban fantasy about a mother who doesn’t know how to be a hero, but luckily she’s a quick study.
I studied fiction writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha but didn’t truly appreciate the experience. Now that I’ve written millions of words, I think it might be fun to go back and take some more classes. (It might be fun…or it might be annoying, who knows?)
Genre: Fantasy

1. The Bazaar
"Don’t take magic sugar from strangers. Trust me." –Devany Miller Devany Miller doesn’t believe in magic, at least not until she’s in the middle of a witch battle that ends with Devany in the clutches of a group of criminals who want to use her dead body to fuel their spells. A dying woman gives Devany a magical object of great power hoping it will aid her escape. Before she can, an assassin spider creeps in to collect the magical heart and kill the witch who made it. The spider lunges, Devany swings, the witch unleashes a spell and– –Devany awakens to a demon claiming she has stolen his heart and his spider. He has the devil’s own eyes, the smile of Don Juan … and Devany doesn’t trust him one bit. If that wasn’t enough, she arrives home to learn that her husband is having an affair. When the witch speaks up in her head to tell her the spider and heart are also inside her she realizes her life has turned upside down and sideways. While she struggles to control the heart’s power, the criminals hunt her to carve the heart from her body, the demon insists she behead a fleshcrawler, his boss desires Devany’s soul, and her husband begs her to forgive him so they can work things out. It’s fine. She only has a full time job, kids, and a house to care for. No big. It isn’t until the criminals take her kids that Devany understands the depths to which her anger and fear can take her. Everyone underestimates how dangerous she is now that they’ve pushed her past her limits. Devany stops at nothing to find her kids and punish those who would dare harm them.

3. Demon’s Cradle
It’s all fun and games until someone loses their soul.
A parasite calling itself a Rider is traveling through Dreams, leaving its potential in the heads of all who hear its voice. Devany is infected, as is her maybe-boyfriend Kroshtuka, and her son, Liam. She has to find the primary host before the Rider’s potential turns into a full-blown parasite.
Devany has more to worry about than just some hate-filled brain monster. Her friend’s abusive ex has escaped from prison and is determined to find his wife, Devany’s job is in jeopardy, and her dad shows up with a book he wrote about Midia—a world he shouldn’t know anything about.
Then Amara, a demon with a grudge, rips away Devany’s humanity. Without it, will she even care to save those she loves?

4. World Weaver
Mistakes have a way of sneaking up on a person and biting them in the ass. Devany Miller knows from first hand experience just how unforgiving and long-lasting mistakes can be.
Her search for her daughter is all-consuming, but that doesn’t stop the rest of her life from falling apart. Her son needs her attention, her father is wearing himself out searching, and the Witch’s Council is doing its best to make sure she never gets near her daughter again.
She’ll have to go to desperate lengths to find her daughter and there’s no guarantee she’ll find her alive. It’s enough to make the strongest person despair, but Devany has never claimed to be strong. She’s just too stubborn to quit.
