Deadly Images by Mildred Wilson (A Paige Healy Mystery #1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 317 KB
Overview: Paige Healy, an attractive African American art therapist, in her twenties, is living her dream working with senior citizens at an urban adult day care center. After spending two years perfecting her program, a new board member begins to harass her. He questions her procedure, prognosis, and timeline for healing. His animosity is worrisome enough, but a series of events cause Paige great concern. In addition to breaking up with her boyfriend, one of her clients is murdered and the grandson is charged. He swears he’s innocent. His aunt believes him and when she finds some sketches that her mother made, she believes they contain valuable information related to her murder. She takes the images to Paige and asks her to assess them. Paige agrees to assess the images, but cautions her that reading artwork is not what an art therapist does. Paige knows that even if she discovers something in the images, it might not be admissible in court. The only hope she has is that with the help of Detective Baxter some additional evidence will be discovered to prove the grandson’s innocence and at the same time strengthen the credibility of art therapy.
