Dead Souls Volume Two (Parts 14 to 26)
Saved from what seemed like certain death, Kate Langley starts to discover the truth about Edgar Le Compte and his century-old friendship with a man named James Nixon. Many years ago, Nixon made a mistake that angered Edgar. Now separated from the other half of his soul, Nixon believes he can make amends and persuade Edgar to show mercy, but other forces are determined to prevent his work.
Meanwhile, a mysterious creature is discovered deep beneath the island’s stone circle, and the dreaded Witch of Thaxos begins to stir following a long sleep. Determined to gain revenge. the witch sets her sights on Kate, but first she needs to find a body she can use. As her plans come to fruition, however, a boat arrives on Thaxos, heralding the return of Edgar’s sister.

Dead Souls Volume Three (Parts 27 to 39)
As she struggles to work out why and how she was transported into the island’s past, Kate Langley gets to know a much younger, and very different, version of Edgar Le Compte. Engaged to Estella and desperately trying to keep control of his wayward sister Madeleine, Edgar is immediately fascinated by Kate, and he slowly comes to believe her story.
Meanwhile, the mystery of the stone circle begins to build as sinister messages are carved, warning Edgar of an oncoming storm. Sure enough, a figure from his past soon arrives on Thaxos and sets about gaining revenge for something that happened long ago. Will Edgar make a stand and defeat his oldest enemy, or will he once again find himself overtaken by the darkness that threatens to overtake his soul?

With Madeleine having been driven mad by her experiences during the night, Edgar has to make a difficult choice. Meanwhile, Estella learns that she’ll have to take further action if she wants to secure her future, but one final slip could cause her to lose everything.
