Overview: ABS had left his physical body at home for this mission, but his self was here and he could do quite a bit, including prepare the rover. While ABS did this, Davlok checked their cargo once more, as a matter of habit. He knew there was little reason to do this—ABS kept their tank under continuous surveillance, and constantly monitored the creatures’ life indices. If anything went wrong, or even threatened to be wrong, ABS would take all corrective actions and then apprise Davlok of the situation a moment later. Davlok checked them anyway. They were fine: healthy and cute, looking like oversized caterpillars. He had picked them up on Kellora, and despite the ever-present dangers of the planet, they were possibly the least aggressive living things Davlok had ever found in the wild. He looked out the window at the moon’s sterile ground and wondered if they could survive on the surface. He didn’t want to find out, but he figured that they could survive most anything.

These creatures, nicknamed Kellora Bears, had skin that could turn into a shell. He’d read the shell could withstand a variety of hazards: flooding, volcanic eruptions and everything in between. He’d even read that they could pass through another creature. If a large predator from Kellora inadvertently consumed one of them, they’d harden their skin and give the creature a vicious stomachache until it found a way to excrete them. There were some theories that they could even survive a stay in empty space. This, along with their appearance, was enough to give them the nickname Kellora Bears, after the microscopic Tardigrades, the hardy creatures that were nicknamed Water Bears. The Kellora Bears weren’t microscopic, but they were definitely hardy. Davlok reminded himself that he hadn’t brought them here to see if they could survive in space, or on the surface of their home planet’s moon, or anywhere else. He had brought them here to hide from the Cyborgs, and nothing else.
