        A fratricide struggle in a futuristic Africa.
        Witness the clash of two brothers in an African Los Angeles which has the feel of an immense ghetto. On one side there is Dayak, abandoned as a child, he was raised in secret and initiated in the world of magic. On the other there is Simon, President of CPM, a mining company that sees Africa, merely, as a vast depositary ripe for pillaging. The battle that ensues between the two is not just brother against brother; it is man against money and love versus indifference. And it also represents a clash of two indestructible forces: machines against wizards, technology against magic.
        After a number of albums Dayak is Adamov’s first series as both artist and writer. It is a dynamic work rich in design, with textured colours, there is intrigue, passion and politics blended together to create a bewitching and sulphurous mix.

    Philippe Adamov, born: 27/6/1956.

      Philippe Adamov was born in London, UK, but moved to France later on. After a promising start as a science-fiction illustrator, Philippe Adamov found his way into comics with the fairytale-like ‘Seule au Monde’, a comic scripted by Xavier Séguin and published in Okapi in 1983. Soon he made his name with the samurai series ‘Le Vent des Dieux’, written by Patrick Cothias and published in Vécu from 1985. After five episodes, he handed over the artwork to Thierry Gioux. Also with Cothias, he conceived ‘Les Eaux de Mortelune’, a dynamic science-fiction story set amidst the ruins of a post-apocalyptic Paris.

      Between 1993 and 1997, he made the science-fiction trilogy ‘Dayak’ at the publishing house Glénat, for which he did both scenario and artwork. For the same publisher, he launched ‘L’Impératrice Rouge’ with writer Jean Dufaux, a series inspired by the movie by Josef von Sternberg.
