Server and amateur sleuth, Josslyn Rockwell, meets a wide variety of people in the Day and Night Diner, where she’s worked for most of her adult life. Some are just hungry, but others are celebrating, or even…mourning.
A man comes into the diner late one night looking thru photo albums to find photos for his mother’s funeral service, and of course, Joss is intrigued.
Meanwhile, Joss’ friend, Rachel, has a flood in her basement. While Rachel is cleaning up the mess, a stranger shows up asking questions about her neighbor, and Joss finds a box of old love letters which may just be linked to a murder.
Caught up in the midst of a murder investigation, Joss finds a tangle of contradictions on social media that just don’t add up with the other facts of the case. Is the stranger next door a killer? Or…is she a mere coincidence?

When a body is found, Joss doesn’t know which direction to turn. She’s afraid to dig deeper and find out that her beloved coworkers aren’t at all who they seemed, but is determined to get the answers to her questions. Apparently a little competition isn’t always a healthy thing.
Joss springs into action, vowing to get to the bottom of the latest scandal in the cozy town of Lemon Bay. Will she be able to solve the latest scandal that has all of the local restaurant community up in arms?
