Overview: Gretchen Marie Allen was born in 1952. Growing up across the US as an Army Brat provided opportunities at military horse stables to learn how to ride, jump and trail ride. Her initial published writings include a professional article in Proceedings of the Fourteenth Vertebrate Pest Conference 1990, eight stories in various Chicken Soup for the Soul books, one story each in Mares, Ya Gotta Love ’em, and The Wonder of it All: 100 Stories from the National Park Service. She publishes under several different names. Her background includes training dogs for fun and therapy dog work, painting and drawing, and engaging people with the intriguing nature of this country. She is a hobby beekeeper. Gretchen works on developing a strong spiritual life.
