Thicker Than Blood (Book 1)
Dave Carver doesn’t wear shining armor or ride a white horse, but he does carry a sword. For centuries, the Knights of the Round Table have defended humanity from the worst monsters that exist beyond the realm of reason. Dave is a Knight of the Round Table. Or he was. After a traumatic stay in a vampire prison camp, Dave has retired from his life of monster hunting and living in a dingy apartment in Manhattan, but when he’s attacked by an agent of the vampires he must pick up his sword to defend New York City. Dave is going to have to contend with a double-dealing diplomat, a pair of duplicitous vampire siblings, and a traitor within the Round Table on his quest to stop the vampires from turning the human race into a glorified cattle ranch. And if he fails, the world is going to get a whole lot bloodier. Thicker Than Blood is the first novel in the Dave Carver series.
Sword For Hire (Book 3)
The dead are walking in New York City. Admittedly, that isn’t all that unusual in the life of Dave Carver. But this time the dead who are walking are a little more…aggressive. Dave is a Knight of the Round Table, a clandestine organization of monster hunters whose job it is to defend humanity from the creepy-crawlies of the world, and even he hasn’t seen anything exactly like this. When tragedy strikes in the suburbs, Dave—alongside his friends, a beautiful prospective knight and a grizzled occult bounty hunter—is called into investigate. Dave will uncover a secret conspiracy—one that involves an oddly familiar strain of evil black magic—that’s already claimed the lives of three innocent people, and may kill some more. Along the way, Dave will find himself face to face with a bitter goblin warrior, an angry homicide detective, and one of the most powerful necromancers of all time. Zombies are coming to New York. All part of a day’s work for Dave Carver, but this day at the office…well, you could almost say it’s a killer.
Best Served Cold (Book 4)
Winter in New York, and a blizzard of historic proportions is choking the city. While most of the city is shut down, Dave Carver is a man on a mission. An old friend of Dave’s has just been murdered, killed by a vampire who didn’t drink the blood.
The scene of the crime matches up with the site of his mother’s death, who was also killed, more than a decade ago, by a vampire who didn’t drink her blood. Dave is pretty sure that this is the same vamp who killed his mother, and this time he’s the one who is out for blood. On his mission for vengeance, Dave will find himself enmeshed more than ever before in the world of supernatural politics, including a grisly showdown with a group of magical terrorists who are looking to overthrow the Knights of the Round Table as the planet’s dominant power. His quest will take him back to his own origin story, and even further, to the dark days when humanity cowered in the darkness and the vampires first began their feasts. Dave will need to contend with dangerous vampires, meet with fundamentalist ghouls, do battle with zealous werebears, and navigate the snow-choked streets of New York. Along the way he’ll make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and he might even lose a few. None of that matters, though. Because for Dave Carver, revenge is…best served cold.
Down The Shore (Book 5)
“Dave…I think I’m in trouble.” When his friend Krissy Thomas calls Dave Carver with these words, he knows it’s serious. Krissy is a fellow knight of the Round Table, which means she’s one of the world’s most dangerous monster hunters and she’s no pushover. She’s gotten herself involved in some treacherous matters, though, and she doesn’t want the rest of the Round Table to know about them. Krissy’s boyfriend has gotten himself embroiled in some dark magic, and Dave knows that if it’s discovered, Christian Kean could find himself losing his freedom…or his life. Dave, of course, agrees to lend any assistance he can, even when that means he needs to travel down the shore on the Fourth of July, even when that means he’ll be cut off from most of his friends and his usual allies. It seems like a simple job, a breeze for an experienced warrior like Dave. But the town of Violet Bay, New Jersey, is more complicated than it seems. It’s got beaches and boardwalks, but it’s also got sirens and mermaids. It has bars and a Ferris wheel, but it also has a werewolf biker gang and a boogeyman. Worse than that, though, Dave discovers that there’s something dark underneath Violet Bay, something old, something hungry. And Christian may just have woken it up…
