Requirements: epub reader, 2 MB
Overview: Nancy Duplechain was reared in Ville Platte, LA., the seat of Evangeline Parish, one of twenty-two parishes that make up Acadiana, also known as Cajun/Creole Country. For several years, she worked at her hometown radio station before starting college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she graduated in 2005 with a degree in general studies and a concentration in English, emphasizing creative writing and literary studies. Nancy moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to pursue a career in screenwriting. One year after moving to L. A., she went back home for a visit. While taking a swamp tour with her friends, the mystery and beauty of the area became a great inspiration to her. She returned to her small studio apartment in Hollywood and began writing Dark Bayou, which was to become her first novel. Nancy returned to Louisiana in the summer of 2011 to be closer to her family. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, Jones and Daisy. Her cat, Jada, often curls up on the desk next to her while she writes. More than anything, she loves spending time with friends and family over dinner and laughs.
