Dark Seas series by Damon Alan (#5-#6)
Requirements: Epub reader, 589 Kb
Overview: Damon Alan was born in Columbus, IN in 1966. He grew up in different southern Indiana locations. He was always the geek in the crowd, developing an early love for science fiction. He could recite many lines from Star Trek, and hungrily consumed what passed for sci-fi TV in his youth. In adulthood he tried several different paths at college before finally realizing he didn’t want that structure. He left school and joined the Air Force to be assigned to Space Command, which sounded much cooler than it probably was. After leaving the Air Force in 1990, he returned to school but also applied to the FAA to be an Air Traffic Controller. In 1992 that became reality, and Damon became an ATC at the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center. Retired from ATC now, Damon is pursuing creative writing as a second career.
Genre: Science Fiction

The Depths of War (Dark Seas #5)
Sarah Dayson has done everything she can just to keep herself and her crews alive. The Seventh Fleet is battered, down in numbers, and longing for a chance to come out on top for a change. Sarah, in alliance with the adepts of Refuge, thinks she finally has answers that will give her the upper hand against the enemies that threaten everything she cares about.
The adepts, able to function as one mind through the nexus of power that is Emille Sur’batti, can bring almost unthinkable power to the battles that wrack the galaxy. Sarah needs to build up a defense for Refuge, both to protect her people and the natives from attack by the Hive now that the Hive have a general idea where she’s located. She needs ships and crews, so she heads back to the galaxy for both.
As usual, that doesn’t turn out as expected when she finds yet another enemy on the field of battle.

Komi Syndicate (Dark Seas #6)
The Seventh Fleet and the Adepts:
The Komi Syndicate is a thorn in Admiral Sarah Dayson’s side when she left them at the end of Book 5. All she wanted was ships to fight the Hive with, but the evil side of human nature stood in her way. So she decided to take what she needed with no regard for the suffering of those who would say otherwise.
She had no idea about the heart of evil that pumped foul blood through the Komi empire. Urdoxander Komi is like nothing she’s ever seen. Heartless. Cruel. Murderous. Genocidal.
Sarah will not have it. She has a universe to save and nothing is going to stop her. Particularly not the evil machinations of politicians. If a few vile opportunists have to be permanently removed from the picture, that’s fine with her.
Komi Syndicate has battles, both in space and on the ground. Psychological warfare abounds. Sarah finds herself in a conundrum, and she’ll have to pick between two desperate choices to get her mission accomplished. Side with the evil she’s come to revile, or risk killing the innocent lives that inhabit the planets of the Komi Syndicate.
The Obedi:
Literally beings from outside our universe, these entities of the oververse find themselves more and more entangled with the affairs of this small corner of reality. Sylange is furious when the Hive attack her children, and her onslaught of revenge is enough to fill even a renegade Hive colony with emotional terror.
The Komi:
Sometimes there is a choice between two evils. The evil that does the minimum necessary to maintain order and control, and the evil that savors the brutality that commanding a fleet of 10,000 ships makes possible. Bannick Komi is left little choice. He must confront his father.
