#1 – Trial by Fire: Jade leads a structured life:
Routine job.
Caffeine addiction.
No serious relationships.
And now, she can spontaneously set things on fire with her mind. Well… perhaps “normal” was never in the cards for her. As she questions her own sanity and spirals out of control, a man appears on her doorstep and tells her that, like him, she’s a witch. Pulled in all directions, her unbridled magic draws dangerous attention and Jade wonders if she’s made the worst mistake of her life by joining a coven, or if she’ll even live long enough to regret it.
#2 – Counter Hex: Jade’s friend-count stands at three. Four, if you include the lizard. Now that she’s joined a coven, Jade is figuring out what it means to be a witch. Spells, counter-hexes, charms and surprisingly: paperwork. She considers the transition from mundane to witch successful with only a few exceptions. Most notably, the demon who keeps showing up in her pantry, her taboo lust for learning demon magic and the feeling that she’ll never really belong anywhere. When a hex falls upon the coven, affecting all witches but her, Jade feels downright ostracized. She knows who’s responsible but can’t prove it. What’s worse, trying to help only threatens her already scant number of friends. Can she control her own burgeoning magic and counter-hex the spell. Should she even try to aid a coven of witches who don’t trust her?

#4 – Dry Spells: The road trip from hell…. Jade hardly has time to adjust to having Lily back before Paris’ presumed dead mother, Sakkara, shows up on her doorstep very much alive. She’s got an errand for Jade – face the Gorgon to retrieve an object Sakkara’s demon mistress wants. When Jade won’t take on Sakkara’s errand willingly, Sakkara banishes Jade to the demon world – a place known only as the Dearth – until Jade completes the task. Luckily (or unluckily – she’s not quite sure), Jade is able to pull a demon, Seth, along with her – trapping them both in Dearth until Jade faces the Gorgon. The devil you know, right? Be careful what you wish for…. Since learning his mother dealt with demon magic, Paris has wished he could ask his mother why she practiced demon magic and just how far did she fall? Unfortunately, Sakkara hasn’t come back to answer Paris’ questions. Her only interest is securing the object her demon mistress sent her to obtain – no matter the cost. How deep does Sakkara’s betrayal go? How much can Jade trust Seth? While trapped in the Dearth, does she have a choice? What will happen when they find the Gorgon?
#5 – Uncontrollable Burn: You can face your past, but it doesn’t mean you’re free…
Jade thought facing a Gorgon and her past demons (including one who shows up in her pantry on occasion), meant she’d get over stuff. Auto-magically, so to speak. It turns out, it’s not that simple. Still recovering from her time in the Dearth and her meeting with Medusa, Jade tries to understand her feelings for Paris. Is she ready to deal with her past and move forward? Or is she perpetually stuck where she is? Jade also struggles as Lily pushes for them to be independent. Now that they’re no longer sharing a body, they can lead separate lives. It should be everything Jade ever wanted.
Sometimes for the future, something has to burn… While Jade contends with her personal life, the Coven is called upon for magical assistance. A forest fire rages out of control, unable to be stopped by mortal forces. Any witch proficient with fire is called to help. If there’s one thing Jade is certain about, especially now when nothing else feels right, it’s fire.
Out of the frying pan… If Jade can’t get the fire under control then landscape, houses, cities, people are in jeopardy. It’s gotta be easier than dealing with her feelings, right? Or has she just made the biggest, most fatal, mistake of her life?
