1. The Return to Zennor – Mermaids, myths and a summer holiday adventure to remember.
Beneath the waves, off of the coast of Cornwall, England, a secret has been hiding for centuries.
Sam is visiting his Grandmother in the remote village of Zennor for the summer holidays. At first it seems like there will nothing to do for an adventure loving little boy but soon family secrets are unravelled as Sam comes face to face with the Mermaid of Zennor.
Follow Sam and his adventure in this simple chapter book for children aged 5 to 9. Broken down into smaller chapters this series is an ideal start into independent reading or can equally be enjoyed as a family bedtime read.

2. In the Footprints of Giants – Sam returns to Cornwall and yet another thrilling adventure awaits him.
This time the sleepy seaside town of Marazion, nestled under the shadow of St Michael’s Mount, is left with a mystery that cannot be solved, giants footprints.
Legend tells that the giant Cormoran built St Michael’s mount many centuries ago. Cormoran was a tyrannical giant that terrorised the people of Cornwall but was defeated by Jack the giant slayer and never seen again.
Could the footprints be Cormoran returning or is it just some elaborate hoax.
Sam, joined by his new friend Millie, is determined to find out.
The Cornish legends series is an unillustrated story book designed to be enjoyed as an easy first independent chapter book or family bedtime story. The shorter chapters help break the story down into bite size pieces so as not to overwhelm young readers.

3. Never Trust a Piskie – The next instalment in the Cornish legends series, discover a mythical creature that hasn’t been seen in 500 years.
Sam stood on the top of the cliff, the waves beneath clashed with the rock, causing the smell of salt and seaweed to be thrown upwards. With his eyes closed and the wind pushing past him, hurrying onto the land behind him, in race away from the angry seas, he could almost imagine what it was like to be the only person there.
Turning his face landward and opening his eyes, he could see a stream of walkers struggling up the cliff path towards him. He wasn’t alone, in fact far from it. It was autumn, there was a chill in the air, but the sun was still strong, fooling unsuspecting visitors into thinking their travels would be a gentler affair. To all the people reaching the cliff top that day, Sam would go unnoticed. Simply a boy enjoying a walk before winter set in with his family. Even Sam did not know the full extent of his own connection with the landscape he now viewed. It wasn’t quite time for him to find out, but every year his story was edging ever closer.
But whilst Sam may not the full extent of his own history, it is important that we understand some of it ourselves before we head off on our next adventure. So here it goes…
