Overview: This title includes a unique contribution to an emerging field. It combines aspects of theory and practice, process and product. It includes contributors that span four countries (UK, Germany, Switzerland, Greece) and several of the contributors work creatively or academically in an international arena. ‘Composed Theatre’ aims to map the field of a form of ‘composed theatre’, which uses musical strategies of organization in the composition of all theatrical means. While the focus of the book is on the European part of the field, the questions and methodologies are currently being discussed beyond Europe, e.g. in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
