Complementary Trilogy by Juliette Rouge (# 1-2)

Overview:I am an avid reader who particularly loves the works of Jane Austen. Persuasion is my favourite; I love the plot and its protagonists which I think are very stimulating. I’ve read almost all the variations (at least the ones released until 2019) and never had enough. I created a lot of stories in my mind, until in 2019 I decided to start writing one of them. Since then, Anne & Frederick have been an incessant source of inspiration for me.
In my story I wanted to include, in addition to the characters created by Jane Austen, also some taken from variations that I particularly liked and wanted to pay homage to; others are of my own creation.
Genre: General Fiction/Classics
Complementary: A Jane Austen’s Persuasion variation
Complementary vol. 1
In the summer of 1814, Anne Elliot feels she had nothing else to lose, while Frederick Wentworth has achieved a lot of fortune and success but not happiness.
What if:
-Anne and Frederick are both trying to spare themselves the pain of a meeting and both avoid going to Uppercross.
-However, fate plots for them to meet and prevent them from avoiding each other.
-The company around them are not that of the distracted and selfish Musgroves but of their respective closest friends, who do not miss noting their strange behaviour and immediately begin to make assumptions about their bond.
-Their friends are plotting to get them back together.
May Frederick feel resentful any longer, and hide his feelings from himself and the others?
"Complementary" is the 1st book (in 2 volumes) of a longer series inspired by classic Jane Austen’s "Persuasion".
Complementary vol. 2:
Complementary vol. 2
A steamy and romantic sequel to "Complementary", this volume presents what comes after the great joy of renewed love and the riot of emotions arising from the second chance at happiness that life, unexpectedly, offers to A&F.
Yet, both are torn between the rational need to settle all the past disagreements and the irrational, euphoric wish to live just their present happiness: the relief of letting go to a new beginning, almost without considering the existence of a painful past.
Furthermore, this time, their rediscovered relationship must necessarily be an experience shared with respective families, friends, and colleagues; new bonds will have to be created, whether they are pleasant or not.
As on two parallel tracks, Anne and Frederick will have to build two different relationships: one between two people who have loved, lost, and found each other again, and the bond that will bring them to enter the world of one another; two different worlds made of different rules.
