Feeling things can’t get worse Carter is exposed as a law enforcement officer and the whipping boss knows that Carter can’t ever leave this swamp alive.

Callie had her own problems when her Uncle was arrested without reason and thrown into a prison work camp deep in the swamps. With the help of friends, Callie works hard to free her Uncle and seeing the conditions the men are living in, she helps more prisoners escape never dreaming that one of the prisoners she would help would be the man that she loves, Carter Johnson. Set in the early nineteen twenties in North Central Florida is a love story of a man that only wants to do good in his law enforcement career and the woman that saves him and soon he must fight to keep safe.
